Launching Soon: Who’s The Artist? I Want The T-Shirt!

Posted by Christian Messer on September 3rd, 2010

I love T-shirts! I’m nutty for t-shirts…Not just any t-shirts…they’ve got to be unique, an absolute must! I love them so much that I have mentally kept track of art work, paintings and graphics I would love to see on a white t-shirt or tank-tops (#2 after t-shirts in my book, and a must in the summer.) I’ve also kept track by throwing all possibilities into Evernote (see my post about Evernote here.) Now, because I love them so much, I’ve decided to take on opening a web store soon with my own unique designs.

There are some graphics I have clipped and stowed away though – that leave me longing to know who the artist is…so I’ll be doing a series and website called: Who’s The Artist? I Want The T-Shirt! I have to leave it up to you kind folks along with Twitter and facebook to help me FIND these artists! I’d love to commission or license their work…these pieces are so striking that I simply must have the t-shirt. Today I have posted on the left two watercolor/high contrast photo meshes…do you know who the artist is? Please let me know in the comments! And thank you in advance!

Nike Soccer Commercial: Epic

Posted by Christian Messer on May 21st, 2010

This three minute commercial from Nike will truly make anyone into a soccer fan…wonder if soccer’s popularity in America is like Apple: Not burning hot, until…the pendulum swings in it’s favor, and it’s reign gets stronger, no stopping it.

TRON vs. Saul Bass…so delicious

Posted by Christian Messer on March 31st, 2010

Saul Bass is an icon in my world of design. He created so many iconic symbols (read: Logos) of our lives: AT&T, Quaker food & beverages, Girl Scouts, Kleenex, Untied Way, United Airlines, YWCA, Warner Bros., and Exxon to name just a few. He created an extensions of films by capturing the essence of a film, in just a few short minutes, the opening credits gave us a peek at what we were about to experience – movies like Psycho, Vertigo, North by Northwest, and the more modern fare of Good fellas, and cape Fear.

Below is someone’s rendition of what Bass would have done, had he created the TRON opening credits – but I reckon he would have done it without being notified of the actual content – it simply doesn’t match TRON, but it’s still delicious!
